I know, it is almost too difficult to believe that I have actually been in the studio and created some art!!
What is the most exciting part though, dear readers, is that I have finally created something that I have been talking about for over a year now and driving my poor friends crazy with. A Witchetty art doll!!!
Abby is in my Etsy store
I cannot tell you how exciting it has been to me to see one of my girls appear in the flesh (so to speak) before my very eyes. This is Abby and she is the first of what I hope will be many.
Abby was created entiredly by hand, every stitch was hand sewn and her face is hand painted onto fabric. Although this makes her a very time consuming project, I really want each doll to be different, one of a kind, unique pieces of art in their own way. Abby is numbered as #1 and signed on the back to make her truly special.
As you can see, Abby is a little bear. I think my next doll will be a little white or grey rabbit. I will have to see what a trip to the fabric store inspires.
Speaking of white rabbits and inspiration, I also have a work in progress to show you.
This is my Alice painting and will be the first of my 'Through the Looking Glass' series. I am hoping to have her finished some time in the next week or so. She is coming along quite nicely I think, considering she has been sitting on my art desk for the past month, patiently awaiting some attention.
I think that shall do for today,
